CEREC emax on 36 + composite filling on 37:
This patient came in with recurrent decay and leaky restorations on her lower left molars. A history of acid erosion was identified. She ultimately decided to restore her 36 with CEREC e.max restoration and her unopposed 37 with a resin filling.
The 37 was restored before the 36 was prepped and scanned using CEREC Primescan. Using CEREC technology to design and fabricate crowns is something I really enjoy. Patients also love the added convenience to complete their crown appointment in one sitting. I find the staining process particularly challenging. In this case I stained the crown to mimic the fluorosis present in her mouth.
Premolar Root canal + composite filling:
This young lady came in with a toothache on her 14. It was diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis and her root canal treatment commenced. After removing the decay, I built up the distal wall with composite resin to ensure a good seal during RCT. The obturation was completed at a later appointment and the access cavity closed off with a direct resin filling. Various rubber dam, posterior composite, and photography techniques from the hands-on workshops held by Dr Sahil Soni were applied here. Now all that’s left is an indirect restoration!
Anterior composite filling:
This elderly gentleman came in for a set of partial dentures. He also complained about how uneven his teeth looked. For financial reasons, he chose the option of resin crowns. I was able to apply the techniques I learnt from the anterior composites workshop held by Dr Sahil Soni as part of the mentoring program. The patient was thrilled at his new teeth. The partial dentures were later completed.
