Michael Tien, Graduated 2020
Anterior composite: This patient works in a field that requires her to communicate with her team members and clients throughout the day. She felt self-conscious of her smile and that her existing restoration on her chipped tooth 11 is tiring. We decided to replace this with an aesthetic composite resin utilising Asteria estelite body and enamel shades.
Immediate upper partial: This lovely lady came to me to get her teeth ready for her wedding day. We came to a mutual understanding of what treatment options were realistic for her, and she was content with her new immediate upper denture to replace from canine to canine. The denture was constructed by Premium Dental Lab – what I liked most was the natural appearance from the ovated pontics that emerged from her gums to the ball clasps that clip between her premolar teeth.
Immediate upper full: Weddings seem to be a common theme in Ipswich. This gentleman wished to regain a natural smile for his daughter’s wedding day. Although we could have created a brighter and straighter smile with this immediate full denture, this patient was content that he now has teeth that are consistent with his stage in life.
Cerec on tooth 46: After attending the workshops in the graduate mentoring program, I decided to put all that knowledge into practical use. This patient presented with cracks developing from an old amalgam filling and wished to minimise the chance of tooth loss by opting for a porcelain crown. Rubber dam was applied to optimise patient comfort and the crown was constructed from CEREC through the use of PrimeScan and PrimeMill technologies.
